Leverage Point

An Idiom for a specific point on the opponent's body that can be used to manipulate the opponent into a position of Limited Retaliation.

Comments:

 

A Leverage Point is typically created through the use of an applied maneuver or method, but this is not a requirement.

A Leverage Point is most commonly a joint on the body.

A Leverage Point is commonly a Pivot Point or a Fulcrum.

Since a Leverage Point is commonly a joint on the body, applied joint locks are also commonly used as a form of manipulation against the opponent.

One of the principle goals of American Kenpo is create and keep leverage over the opponent; Leverage Points are frequently used to not only create but also to maintain leverage.
