Blockading is a specialized form of blocking which requires the use of an environmental object as a barrier between the opponent(s) and the practitioner(s).

a.to prevent the passage of the opponent

b.to keep the opponent in a specific region

c.to block the opponent's line of communication

just to name a few

 

In sparring:

c.keep the judges from seeing the opponent's strikes (points)

in self-defense:

Blockading is often employed using common objects in one's environment, such as a chair, table, door, window, tree, car, etc.

 

A common form of using a Blockade with more than one opponent, is to use one or more of the opponents to block the remaining opponent(s) from attacking
