Attention (Stances)

A category of stance which is physically distinguishable by a 50%-50% weight distribution, Toe-Toe Heel-Heel Alignment (alignment of depth), side of feet touching or close together (alignment of width), both feet positioned flat on the ground and knees naturally extended (alignment of height) - eyes directed toward the Point of Reference.

Comments:

Attention stances are generally considered to be non-ready to semi-ready stances in relation to combat and self-defense.

The standard attention stance has the arms tightly to the sides and eyes directed forward.

The standard Attention stance is typically considered a formal stance - used in formal occasions; such as forms, opening / closing class, etc.

Derivation:

The attention stance derives its name from the similar military stance of the same name.
