An idiom describing a specific extent of the Degree of Attack paradigm, where the currently attacking, offensive weapon is not intended to cause injury (as in a push), but could potentially be converted into a Dead or Live weapon.

The Degree of Attack paradigm has three (3) levels:

Dead

Semi-Live

Live

 

This Degree of Attack means that the attacking weapon is active (e.g. in-flight) but is perceived not to be an immediate threat (e.g. Minor vs Major).
