Kneel (Stances)

A category of stance which is physically distinguishable by an offset foot alignment of width, a Heel-Knee Alignment of depth, and one foot positioned flat on the ground - while the other foot is positioned on the ball of the foot - eyes directed toward the Point of Reference.

Comments:

The standard height of this stance is typically having the bent leg a few inches from the ground, at the knee; but can (if needed) be lowered until the knee rests on the ground.

There is a double kneel variation, which is not part of original written curriculum - but is used primarily in specific combat, sparring, and self-defense situations. This would be the layman's definition of this stance.

Derivation:

Kneel stances get their name from the fact that they are essentially bow stances that squat to the pointing of almost kneeling.
