Dead Hand

An idiom referring to a specific method of energy transfer physically distinguishable by the striking weapon remaining completely loose upon contact; thus allowing for a more efficient, effective, and forceful transfer of kinetic energy into the opponent.

Comments:

The "dead hand" weapon is not executed in isolation, but rather uses the mass of the entire body to back the strike. The relaxation of the body during the execution of this method relies primarily on the fascia of the body rather than the musculature to maintain structure.

Generally speaking, this method is the opposite of the classic method of strike delivery, which tenses at the point of contact.

This method of weapon delivery requires practice and skill to implement correctly. And, although it seems counter-intuitive it can be just as effective as the more classic delivery methodology.

The term Dead Hand does not exactly describe the entire method, just the fact that the weapon takes on dead-like characteristics upon enactment.

The term Dead Hand refers to the most common way of implementing the method; but technically, this method can be used with any Natural Weapon and potentially Man-made Weapons.

This term has only an offensive connotation.

Dead Hand should not be confused with the Dead Degree of Attack. Dead Hand refers to a specific method of weapon application and Dead Degree of Attack refers to an Applied or otherwise currently occupied potential weapon.
