Fighting Position

Being at the ready in both stance and mind.

Comments:

Fighting Position is a rather generic term essentially meaning ready to fight.

Fighting Position mainly refers to being in a defensive posture and ready for combat, but also includes mental preparedness.

Fighting Position's generic nature is further demonstrated in that it does not refer to a specific stance - this detail is personalized to the individual.

Fighting Position differs from both Guarded Position and Fighting Stance in that Fighting Position refers to stance (i.e. Fighting Stance), all extremities (i.e. Guarded Position), and mental preparedness.

Fighting Position differs from Ready Position in that Ready Position more commonly refers to mental preparedness - but frequently these terms are used interchangeably.

Fighting Positions is sometimes used as a preparatory command within tournament sparring matches - this is to inform the competitors to get into their sparring stance and get ready to engage the opponent.
