The Depth Zone is one of the three (3) Dimensional Zones within normal space. The other two (2) Dimensional Zones being Height Zone and Width Zone. Using these Dimensional Zones, the concept of Power Principles was derived. These Dimensional Zones along with the element of time are what essentially composes all movement.
The Depth Zone and Height Zone are generally associated with linear motion, where the Width Zone is generally associated with circular motion. Because of this, and in association with the concept of Power Principles, Depth is primarily directly related to Back-up Mass.
Using the Dimensional Zone Theory, the Depth Zone is generally divided into seven (7) levels that are viewed from the flank. Taken from a fighting stance (i.e. Neutral Bow) they are: 1)front hand to front foot 2)front foot to front elbow 3)front elbow to front shoulder 4)front shoulder to head 5)head to rear shoulder 6)rear shoulder to read knee 7)rear knee to rear foot The rear hand and arm falls into level three (3) or four (4) depending upon positioning
The easiest way to conceptualize depth is to visualize a three (3) dimensional box laying flat on the ground, where depth represents the box's dimension from front-to-back.
