An idiom referring to the initial step of the front foot for a Front Cross-Over in reverse.

 

Comments:

 

The reason this initial step is given its own term is because of its distinct characteristics of providing not only distance but also cover of the groin, and therefore would be classified as a sophisticated maneuver - in this case with a defensive (rather than offensive) intent.
