Crossing Talon (long range)

1a)Drop (toward 4:30V) your left hand onto your right wrist, palm down (toward 6:00V), while immediately shifting (clockwise H) (toward 7:30H), into a right neutral bow (facing 7:30H).
Note:Throughout the above maneuver your right hand should maintain its same spacial position and should not be effected by either the shift of your stance or the repositioning of your left hand.
Option:To visually demonstrate that this maneuver represents a right, vertical, wrist lock to the potential opponent's right wrist and simulate repositioning your right hand from the bottom to the top of the potential opponent's grabbing hand / wrist, circle your right hand (clockwise V) at the wrist, ending with the right open hand parallel to the floor, with fingers pointing away from you (toward 7:30H) and palm facing to your left (toward 9:00V).
1b)Immediately, left step through forward (toward 7:30H) into a left neutral bow (facing 7:30H) while simultaneously executing a left, downward, horizontal elbow strike (toward 6:00V) to lower rib height, while your left hand and right wrist maintain contact with each other.
Note:The above maneuver is executed such that the pivot point of the elbow strike is at the hand and not the shoulder using both the change in depth of the stance switch and the settle into the stance to enhance the effectiveness of the strike. Also, the final position of your left elbow should not pass the height of the left hand - i.e., the 3:00V-9:00V (horizontal) line.
Note:Throughout the above maneuver your right hand should maintain its same spacial position and should not be effected by either the change of your stance or the left elbow strike.
Option:To visually demonstrate that this maneuver represents a right counter-grab to the potential opponent's right wrist, rotate your right hand (counter-clockwise V), in concert with the other maneuvers, ending with the right hand fully or partially closed (simulating a grabbing position) and parallel to the floor, palm facing downward (toward 6:00V).
1c)Cock your left arm to your right side (toward 1:30H), palm down (toward 6:00V), and immediately reverse the motion of your left arm to deliver a left outward elbow to rib height (toward 7:30H), palm up (toward 12:00V).
Note:Throughout the above maneuver your right hand should maintain its same spacial position and should not be effected by any shifting in your stance or the left elbow strike.
Option:To visually demonstrate a push / pull effect (7:30H - 1:30H) to the potential opponent, allow your right hand to move in direct opposition to, but timed with your left arm maneuvers; ending with your right hand in a low chambered position, palm down (toward 6:00V). In addition, one may also choose to add in-stance weight shifting in concert with the other maneuvers, to further accentuate the delivery of the left outward elbow strike (i.e., demonstrate Body English).
2a)Deliver a left outward heel-palm (toward 7:30H), fingers pointing downward (toward 6:00V), to rib height, while maintaining the same relative spacial position of your right hand.
Option:Again, you may either maintain the same spacial position of your right hand or simultaneously pull (toward 1:30H) in concert with your left arm maneuver.
2b)Immediately, drop (toward 6:00V) your left elbow (anchor) downward while simultaneously executing an upward claw (toward 12:00V) at rib height, palm ending downward (toward 6:00V).
Note:The pivot point for the maneuver is at the center of the forearm, not the elbow or fingers.
2c)Without any loss of momentum, deliver a left inward, overhead (clockwise V) elbow strike (toward 6:00V) (toward 7:30H) to rib height, palm facing you (toward 1:30H), while also coordinating the closing of the left hand into a left fist, palm facing you (toward 1:30H), at the strike's potential contact point.
Option:To visually demonstrate Body English to the above maneuver, slightly rise (toward 12:00V) (during the upward portion of the maneuver) and then settle (toward 6:00H) (during the downward potion of the maneuver) into the left neutral bow in concert with the circular motion of the arm; completing with the strike's potential contact point. Also, one may wish to accentuate the maneuver even further by continuing to settle all the way into a high, left wide kneel stance (facing 7:30H).
Option:Again, you may either maintain the same spacial position of your right hand or you may convert it into a right positional check at solar plexus height and width, palm facing forward (toward 7:30H) and finger pointing upward (toward 12:00V).
