Sparring specific slang for a competitor who continually retreats from attacks during freestyle competition.

Comments:

This method of sparring can be seen during tournament competition as well as normal sparring situations.

This term is generally derogatory.

A Runner generally does not like fighting a Charger, because a Charger has a tendency to try and "run down" a Runner.

This method of sparring is usually done:

a)out of fear getting hit

b)out of fear of the other opponent

c)out of inexperience

d)to try and waste time

Derivation:

The term is taken from the fact that the competitor appears to run from any advances by the opponent.
