A distinct category of a strike which is physically distinguishable by striking with the inner edge of the hand (or potentially the wrist). |

This maneuver is typically enacted with the hand partially open, but this is not a requirement.
From a technical perspective, the ridge-hand should use only the inner blade of the hand, but the wrist area can be used in conjunction with or a replacement for the standard contact point.
From one perspective, this maneuver is basically the reverse of the hand-sword.
