Meditating Horse (Stance)

 

A specific type of horse stance which is physically distinguishable by the raised position of the hands in the standard American Kenpo salutation positioning (left hand covering right hand).

 

Comments:

 

This stance is considered to the standard stance for shorter meditations. These meditations most commonly occur at the opening and closing of classes, the opening of forms, and other situations where one needs to clear the mind.

 

This stance is not part of original written curriculum - but is commonly used in training situations and within the forms and sometimes the sets.

 

Derivation:

 

The meditating horse stance derives its name from the fact that it often used as the standard stance for meditating purposes.
