Half-knuckle Sequence

form_pattern_half-knuckle

The half-knuckle sequence is as follows:

1)Execute a left, thrusting, instep (arch) kick with a left, hammering, close-fist half-knuckle strike. Without any loss of motion from the previous moves, plant your left foot forward into a left front twist.
2)Step through forward with your right foot into a right neutral bow with a right uppercut punch and without any loss of motion, execute a right, thrusting, upward horizontal forearm strike, to chin level.
3)Execute of a left, thrusting, vertical two-finger poke, at eye level.
4a)Retract of your right hand to your right upper chest region, in preparation for the next move.
4b)Execute a right, thrusting, vertical two-fingered poke, while simultaneously retracting your left hand to your left upper chest area.
5)Execute a left, thrusting, vertical two-fingered poke, while simultaneously retracting the right hand to the right upper chest area.
6)Repeat the sequence on the opposite side (toward 10:30H)

The obvious information derived from this sequence is:

it utilizes the twist and neutral bow

it demonstrates execution of rear with rear weapon (offensively) (upper / lower)

it demonstrates execution with the front weapon (offensively)

it demonstrates execution with the rear weapon (offensively)

it demonstrates both sides of the sequence (opposites)

it introduces the concept of threading

the first cover is 180 degrees (without any transition)

the two sides of the sequence are executed at a 90 degree angle from each other

Analyzing this sequence further exposes the following information:

it steps onto a minor angle (instead of a major angle)

it completes the 'X' pattern

it is only executed to the upper part of the 'x' pattern

it introduces a new kick - instep (arch) kick

it introduces a new strike formation - half-knuckle (closed fist)

it introduces a new strike - upward, horizontal forearm

it introduces a new strike - vertical, two finger poke

it demonstrates the upper-cut punch to a new height zone (high)

the foot maneuver demonstrates the cross-over with two, simultaneous strikes

Half-knuckle / Instep (arch) Kick Specific Information

The obvious information derived from the Half-knuckle / Instep (arch) Kick is:

the strikes are offensive

the strikes emphasizes the power principle of back-up mass

the half-knuckle is executed using the hammering Method of Execution

the half-knuckle is executed using linear line of travel (diagonally)

the kick is executed using the hammering Method of Execution

the kick is executed using linear line of travel (diagonally)

the kick demonstrates a new striking surface for the foot

the maneuver introduces the instep (arch) kick

the maneuver introduces the half-knuckle (closed fist)

the foot maneuver demonstrates the cross-over with two, simultaneous strikes

the foot maneuver demonstrates change of distance without rotation

Analyzing this maneuver further exposes the following information:

the kick demonstrates a new point of contact with the foot (arch)

the maneuver demonstrates offense with offense

the maneuver demonstrates execution of rear with rear weapon

the maneuver demonstrates linear with linear motion

Upper-cut / Upward, Horizontal Forearm Specific Information

The obvious information derived from the Upper-cut / Forearm is:

the strikes are offensive

the strikes are executed to mid-range

the punch emphasizes the Power Principle of gravitational marriage

the punch is executed using the thrusting Method of Execution

the punch is executed using linear line of travel (vertically)

the forearm emphasizes the Power Principle of gravitational marriage

the forearm is executed using the thrusting Method of Execution

the forearm is executed using linear path of travel (vertically)

the maneuver introduces the upward, horizontal forearm strike

the foot maneuver demonstrates change of distance without rotation

Analyzing this maneuver further exposes the following information:

it demonstrates sophisticated motion

Vertical, Two-Finger Poke Specific Information

The obvious information derived from the Two-Finger Poke is:

they are offensive

they are executed to long range

they emphasize the Power Principle of back-up mass

they are executed using the thrusting Method of Execution

they are executed using linear line of travel (diagonally)

they utilize both the front and rear weapons

the maneuver introduces the vertical, two-finger poke

the maneuver demonstrates use of the rear hand without rotation of stance
