The I.K.K.A. crest was created by SGM Parker as part of the I.K.K.A.
This crest became the symbol of Ed Parker's American Kenpo until the early 21st century, when his surviving family members began suing individuals over the use of the copyrighted symbol (which is why there is no illustration of the crest here). Because of this many practitioners began using alternative crests to represent their lineage / line of American Kenpo and the I.K.K.A. crest began its decent into irrelevance - except in certain circles.
One major alternative developed (at the time mentioned above) was the American Kenpo Crest. This crest is open source and free for all to use as they see fit, without the threat of legal recourse.
