Ground (Stance)

A type of Specialized Stance which is physically distinguishable by the feet not being the primary base of the stance on the ground.

Comments:

The ground stance is a not a specific stance, but rather a collection that encompasses all stances that use the body as the primary contact point with the ground to obtain stability.

Ground stances can be aided by the use of the hands, arms, legs, and/or feet in any number or combination.

There are whole martial systems that study both offensive and defensive strategies and maneuvers from a ground stance.

Derivation:

This stance derives its name from the fact that the body rests on the ground.
