The inside-downward, palm up block sequence is as follows:
1) | Step the left foot backward into a right front twist with a left, hammering, inside downward palm up block, while simultaneously retracting the right arm to a right chambered position |
2) | Unwind into a right neutral bow with a right, snapping vertical punch, at lower rib level, while simultaneously retracting the left arm to a left chambered position, palm up |
3) | Repeat the sequence on the opposite side (toward 10:30H) |
An analysis of this sequence exposes the following information:
•it alters the inside-downward palm-down, palm-up, push-down sequence of Long Form One
•it uses one-in-one timing
•it introduces retreating on the minor angle ('x')
•it demonstrates the same maneuver as the end of the Downward Block sequence but stepping in reverse.
•it demonstrates the equivalent of a step through, separating the two major components- distance and rotation
•it covers both the upper left and lower right parts of the minor angles ('x')
•it does not demonstrate the reverse punch of Long Form One on to the minor angle ('x')
Inside-Downward, Palm up Block Specific Information
An analysis of this maneuver exposes the following information:
•the block demonstrates Point of Origin from the previous sequence
•the foot maneuver adds a small degree of gravitational marriage to the block
•the foot maneuver adds a degree of back-up mass "in front of" the blocking weapon
•the execution of the block starts as the front hand but finishes as the rear hand
•it introduces a new type of block category - parrying blocks
An analysis of this maneuver exposes the following information:
•the foot maneuver (unwind) expands the 'degree of' stance rotation of the Inward Block sequence
