The maneuver can be executed either through rotation or stepping, with the steps toward any directional angle (i.e. forward, backward, flank).
From one perspective, a twist foot maneuver can be considered half of a twist through foot maneuver or half of a cross over foot maneuver.
Although the name may imply rotation, rotation is not necessary to execute this maneuver.
In a training environment, the most common stepping directions of execution are forward and backward - with off angles being less common. |
