Layman's definition of the word. Although, within American Kenpo turn more commonly refers to a vertical Axis of Rotation over a horizontal one.

Turn tends to refer to an Environmental Object already in motion changing its Path of Travel, but can equally refer to an in-place rotation.

Turn, spin, roll, circle, pivot, and twirl can sometimes all be used interchangeably, but technically there are differences. See specific definitions for more details.
