The "L" shape is created by the foot maneuvers of the form - not the directions in which one faces. So, although one faces all four (4) cardinal directions (i.e. a square), the pattern created by the feet is the "L".
This pattern is created by the execution of a single side of the form. If both sides of the form is executed, the pattern created would be an upside-down "T". |
