Even though Short Form Two introduced checking with the alternate hand, Long Form Two still falls into the 'dictionary' forms (i.e. the lower forms), therefore the unused hand is often drawn back into a chambered position. This does not mean that the alternate hand can't be positioned as a check, just that it is not part of the standard execution of the form.
