This is the layman's definition of the term.
A figure eight can be created with a single extremity or two (2) different extremities.
The figure eight is also referred to as overlapping circles. These circles can merely touch on their edge or considerably overlap to the point that it forms a single double circle.
The figure eight can be created in all orientations (horizontal, vertical, diagonal) and each of the circles can be either on the same plane or on angular planes in any relational orientation to one another.
The flexibility in creating the figure eight adds a high degree of versatility to its use in application.
The figure eight is considered advanced maneuvering due to its ability to be continuous in nature.
The figure eight is one of the primary figures of American Kenpo.
