This variation is considered destructive.
The final maneuvers of Isolation Sequence #1a are expressed differently. This variation is accomplished by stepping of the left foot to right foot with the final double, horizontal, inverted punches of isolation 1a, then with a rising into the attention stance with the circling of both hands to the sides. This variation basically comes down to an argument of an emphasis on realism (stylized) over theme (idealized).
Rationale For
Stepping the left foot to the right foot with the double horizontal punches adds Backup Mass to the left (minor) punch.
Rationale Against
By definition, there should be no opposite body maneuvers (e.g. foot maneuvers) executed within an isolation. Therefore, adding this additional foot maneuver changes the sequence from being considered part of the isolation to being a transitional maneuver and changes how the informational analysis is conducted. Adding the step eliminates important both inter-isolation and intra-isolation relationships. In this specific case, the step eliminates not only relationships within this form's isolation sequences, but also between previous and future form isolation sequences.
Additionally, stepping at this juncture would take Backup Mass away from the major weapon and dramatically change the upper and lower body timings of the following sequence (circling hands to sides). And finally, the left punch should be executed directly into the bicep of the right arm, and therefore either the angle of the punch would also need to be altered or the step would not aid in the backup mass of the left punch negating the logic for the step.
