Darting Leaves (right side)

1a)

Direct your attention 45-degrees (clockwise horizontally) to your right (toward right-front-flank) as you draw your right foot forward (toward left-front flank) into a right, 45-degree, cat stance facing forward (toward right-front-flank) with a left, hammering, inward block (toward right-front-flank) to lower face level, palm pointing to your right (toward right-rear-flank), which concludes with hand open; simultaneously with the drop (toward down) of your right hand shaped into a vertical, 2-finger, poke formation at your right chest level, fingers pointing forward (toward right-front-flank), in preparation for the next maneuver.

Elaboration:

The inward block of the previous maneuver (1a) begins with the hand closed, but concludes with the hand open. The opening of the hand should occur near the conclusion of the maneuver, immediately after its focal point.

Visualization:

The fingers of right hand should now have direct line of sight for the next maneuver (1b) - without the need to travel around the left arm nor to reposition the left arm to accommodate the linear motion of the right.

1b)

Execute a right, snapping, vertical, 2-finger poke (toward right-front-flank) to eye height, palm pointing to the left (toward left-front-flank), simultaneously with a right, snapping, front (ball) kick (toward right-front-flank) to groin height.

Elaboration:

The path of the right arm should travel such that the backs of the arms glance (or almost glance) each other (weaving) during the execution of the poke.

Explanation:

The replanting of the right foot is purposely placed within the next side of the sequence to call out the fact that there is no transition between sides of the technique.
