1) |
Direct your attention 180-degrees (counter-clockwise horizontally) backward (toward rear) as you execute a right, thrusting, horizontal, back, 4-finger poke over the left shoulder (toward rear), palm pointing downward (toward down), simultaneously with the execution of a left, thrusting, back elbow (toward rear), palm pointing upward (toward up). |
2) |
Split your attention between both the forward (toward front) and backward (toward rear) directions as you execute a left, thrusting, horizontal, straight 4-finger thrust (toward front) to eye height, palm pointing downward (toward down), simultaneously with a right, hammering, back, vertical hand-sword (toward rear), to groin height, fingers pointing downward (toward down). |
3) |
Execute a left, hammering, vertical, back, hammer-fist (toward rear), to groin height, knuckles pointing downward (toward down), simultaneously with a right, thrusting, upward elbow (toward upper-front), to face height, knuckles pointing backward and diagonally-upward (toward upper-rear). |
Clarification: |
The following sequence (4a-4c) is to be executed as a single uninterrupted maneuver, but the individual motions of the series are detailed for more clarity of the subtleties contained within these movements. |
4a) |
Redirect your attention to only forward (toward front) as you arc your left arm forward (toward upper-front) (counter-clockwise vertically) until pointing forward and diagonally-upward (toward upper-front) in front of your left shoulder, at face height, knuckles pointing forward and diagonally-upward (toward upper-front); effectively matching the opposite angle of your right arm, which remains motionless. |
Elaboration: |
In this part of the maneuver (4a), the shoulder starts as the major pivot point and then transitions to the elbow becoming the major pivot point. |
4b) |
Without any loss of motion, switch the direction of the knuckles of each arm (right counter-clockwise / left counter-clockwise - vertically) such that the left knuckles point backward and diagonally-upward (toward upper-rear) and the right knuckles point forward and diagonally-upward (toward upper front). |
Elaboration: |
In this part of the maneuver (4b), the elbows are the primary pivot point for both arms. |
4c) |
Without any loss of motion, reposition both arms simultaneously (left clockwise / right clockwise - vertically) such that both set of knuckles point relatively upward (toward up), palms pointing inward (left toward right-flank / right toward left-flank), at lower face height in front of their corresponding shoulder. |
Elaboration: |
In this part of the maneuver (4c), the elbows continue to be the primary pivot points for both arms. |
5a) |
Split your attentional between both the left (toward left-flank) and right (toward right-flank) directions as you execute double, snapping, outward and diagonally-upward punches (left toward upper-left-flank / right toward upper-right-flank) to upper face height, palms pointing diagonally-upward (left toward upper-right-flank / right toward upper-left-flank). |
5b) |
Redirect your attention forward (toward front) as you return both fists to their same relative starting position of the previous maneuver (5a). |
