A derogatory slang term used to describe the condition where a practitioner puts so much thought into their defense that they are paralyzed by the analysis. |

This term describes the resulting condition of spending too much time analyzing motion and little to no time actually executing it. One is literally paralyzed by their thought to the point that their actual physical implementation is diminished if not completely shut down.
Because American Kenpo has a lot of conceptual underpinnings, it is easy for one to get wrapped up in the conceptual at the detriment of the physical.
The point of this term is to remind the practitioner that one needs to get out of the conceptual and into the practical (e.g. Real Deal Phase). |
