What is the purpose of the "cup and saucer" position in Short Form Two?

The "cup and saucer" position can be thought of as a "chambered" position, but for both arms. It is a formalized way of cocking both arms to one side of the body in preparation for a future maneuver - to the opposite side of the body. Just like the "chambered" position, the "cup and saucer" position is not practical for defensive purposes, but is used more for placing the arms into a common, cocked position. And, is just a two handed variation of the "chambered" position.
