Note: | The maneuvers of this isolation sequence are executed as double maneuvers - primarily for the purpose of consolidating information. |
Note: | The following maneuver simulates breaking out of a direct wrist grab with a potential offensive move (sophisticated). |
1) | Double downward punch (toward 6:30V) directly in front of your body (toward 12:00H). |
Note: | The following maneuver simulates breaking out of a direct wrist grab with a potential offensive move (sophisticated). |
2) | Rotate (counter clockwise V) both your fists with an upward (toward 12:00V), backward (toward 6:00H) arch, delivering double, thrusting, forward back-knuckles (toward 12:00H / 9:00V), palm toward you (toward 3:00V), on either side of the center of your body (centerline) (width), concluding at chin height (height). |
Option: | The angles of the back-knuckles may continue slightly beyond the vertical line (toward 10:30V) and strike downward, diagonally (toward 4:30V). |
Note: | The following maneuver simulates grabbing a potential opponent's thumbs (with your thumbs) as they deliver a rear bear hug (from 6:00H) to your waist area. |
3) | Simultaneously drop (toward 4:30V / 7:30V), cross (left over right), and open both your hands to your upper hip height, palm backward (toward 6:00V). |
Note: | The following maneuver simulates breaking a potential opponent's grab from your waist area. |
Note: | The following maneuver is executed simultaneously (instead of in a left / right sequence) - primarily for the purpose of consolidating information. |
4) | Uncross (toward 9:00V / 3:00V) your open hands to their respective hips (left to left / right to right), palms forward (toward 12:00H). |
Note: | The previous maneuver should conclude in a position similar to a chambered horse position (only hands open and palms forward). |
Note: | The next maneuver is not considered part of the isolation, rather a transition (adjustment) step prior the next series of maneuvers. |
5) | Shift your right foot (toward 9:00H) to your left foot, while maintaining the same relative stance height, as you simultaneously raise (toward 12:00V) both open hands in front of your body (stacked right over left) to upper chest height (height) with both arms parallel to and on either side of your centerline (width), palms toward you (toward 6:00H), and both elbows anchored (toward 6:00V) and almost touching in front of your abdomen area. |
