Intra-Form Analysis

thrust_into_darkness

As the name suggests, this section of Long Form Three's analysis will be limited to only those elements that are contained within this form. Much of the analytical data presented in this area one might consider to be obscure and/or overlooked information. Information that is just not taught, or if taught, presented in a vague manner and usually without much emphasis or detail. This is often done purposely with the intention of allowing the practitioner to 'fill in the blanks' and explore on their own. And, although this information may appear to be both voluminous and tedious at first glance it is essential for exposing the practitioner to information that is 'hidden in plain sight' and often not even considered. And, although one might not be able to recite and/or recall all of this information at will, given some time an expert practitioner should be able to reproduce this information.

Ultimately, the aim of this section is to give the reader exposure to this type of information. Through this exposure the reader is expressly guided into the proper mental framework of how to think about and understand the volumes of information expressed within the form. Understanding and not being intimidated by this information is critical for one to acquire the skills to reproduce the data presented in this section on their own. As such, this section is not intended to be read from start to finish. Instead, it is intended that this section be used as a reference and guide.

Finally, the information presented in this section is purposely not intended to be all inclusive. Rather the information has a slight bias towards more conceptual data over physical based data. This trend towards the conceptual is a designed and gradual shift as this series progresses, with the beginning books leaning toward the physical and the higher books skewing toward the conceptual. To get a more complete picture of the entirety of the data presented within the forms of the system, one will need to reference a variety of books throughout the series.

Note: Throughout the First Person analysis in this section, one may see terms such as "Purposeful Compliance" and "Compelled Compliance". For more information about these terms refer to, "Appendix E - Purposeful vs Compelled" in the Short Form Three guide book (not in this book).

Note: Any terms that one sees and is not familiar throughout the entirety of this analysis section may usually be referenced in "The Encyclopedia of Kenpo".
