Offense (striking) is one of the major themes of Long Form Two. Executing the offensive maneuvers properly can make the difference between a successful offense and failure. Just like stances and blocks, the practitioner should become intimately familiar with the proper dimensions utilized in each of the offensive maneuvers.
Some of the primary concepts in dealing with striking are Angle of Incidence, Directional Harmony, Focus, Alignment, and Method of Execution. These theories along with others are highlighted in detail in SGM Parker's book, "Infinite Insights into Kenpo, book #3 (Physical Analyzation II)."
Some of the most common offensive mistakes displayed while executing Long Form Two are: not executing strikes to the proper dimensions; not executing strikes to the proper angles; not extending strikes to the proper depth; not executing strikes with the proper point of contact of the weapon; executing strikes with improper timing; improper weapon formation, and/or executing strikes with the improper Method of Execution.
