Inward Block - Front Arm

a)proper alignments:
i)height = fist at eye-brow level
ii)width = blocking arm extended to opposite shoulder
iii)depth = blocking arm extended to depth of Invisible Box
iv)execution angle - forward at 45 degrees

 

b)improper execution:
i)not obeying Economy of Motion principle:
1)not executing the block from Point of Origin (making a cock a separate motion)
ii)not obeying the rule of Margin for Error (also improper alignments):
1)not anchoring the elbow
2)not keeping the block vertical – i.e. over reaching
iii)improper angles of execution
1)not executed diagonally away from body

Form Specific

a)improper execution:
i)executing two hammering inward blocks (instead of a hammering and thrusting)

Comments

a)Common execution errors:
i)execute block to the wrong forward angle. This is due to anticipation of the Outward Hand-sword.
