Defense (blocking) is one of the major themes of Long Form Two. Executing these maneuvers properly can make the difference between a successful defense and failure. Just like the stances, the practitioner should become intimately familiar with the proper dimensions utilized in each of the defensive maneuvers.
The primary concepts in dealing with blocking dimensions are the Outer Rim theory and/or the Invisible Box theory. These theories along with the proper dimensions for each block are highlighted in detail in SGM Parker's book, "Infinite Insights into Kenpo, book #3 (Physical Analyzation II)."
Some of the most common defensive mistakes displayed while executing Long Form Two are: not executing blocks to the proper dimensions; not executing blocks to the proper angles; not executing double factor block properly; not executing blocks efficiently (without Economy of Motion); and/or executing blocks with improper timing.
