This variation is generally considered non-destructive.
The double stomp is executed close or far. This variation is accomplished by executing the double stomps (#3b) at a further range, rather than a close range. This variation basically comes down to how the take-down (#3a) of the technique is interpreted.
Rationale For
The rationale for this variation is that the take-down throws the potential opponent further and therefore the double stomps also need to be further away.
Rationale Against
The rationale against this variation is that the take-down is controlled and does not throw the potential opponent. Rather the potential opponent is forced to the ground at a close range and therefore the stomps also need to be at a close range.
