Unfurling Crane (left side)

Explanation:

The following maneuver sequence (1a) is typically considered a transitional maneuver sequence, but is not limited as such. From a technical perspective, elements of the sequence might be considered: a) part of the previous technique, b) just an isolated transition, c) part of this technique, d) or all of the above - depending upon how the components are being analyzed.

1a)

Replant your left foot back to its original position (at the start of the previous technique) into a modified horse facing 45-degrees offset (counter-clockwise horizontally) to the left (toward left-front-flank) with a right, hammering, inward, inside forearm (toward left-front-flank) to face level, palm pointing to your left (toward left-flank), while simultaneously repositioning the left fist to a left chambered position, palm pointing upward (toward up).

Clarification:

The horse of the previous maneuver (1a) is called modified because the feet are oriented as a horse, but the upper body (and attention) is offset 45-degrees to the left.

1b)

Right step reverse (toward left-rear-flank) into a left, transitory, forward bow facing forward (toward left-front-flank), and without delay, rotate (clockwise horizontally) with a settle (toward down) into a left, modified, neutral bow facing forward (toward left-front-flank) simultaneously with the execution of a left, thrusting, vertical-outward block (toward left-front-flank), palm pointing toward you (toward right-rear-flank), and in-sync with the execution of a right, hammering, downward block (toward left-front-flank), palm pointing backward (toward right-rear-flank).

Clarification:

The neutral bow of the previous maneuver (1b) is called modified because the feet are oriented as a neutral bow, but the upper body is oriented as a forward bow.

Elaboration:

The previous maneuver (1b) first establishes the proper alignments (toe-heel / knee-heel) for the stance and then (rotates and) settles into the neutral bow with the execution of the blocks; which is actually an outward-downward universal block.

1c)

Execute a left push-drag forward (toward left-front-flank) with a left, hammering, forward, under-hand, hammer-fist (toward left-front-flank) to groin height, side of fist pointing forward (toward left-front-flank), with a settle (toward down) into a left, modified, neutral bow facing forward (toward left-front-flank); simultaneously with the execution of a right, thrusting, vertical-outward block (toward left-front-flank), palm pointing toward you (toward right-rear-flank).

Clarification:

The neutral bow of the previous maneuver (1c) is called modified because the feet are oriented as a neutral bow, but the upper body is oriented as a fighting horse.

Visualization:

The next maneuver sequence (2a-2b) is to be executed using relatively overlapping circular (vertical) paths, in a generally continuous flow - not appearing to be mumbled together nor staccato in execution.

2a)

Rotate forward (counter-clockwise horizontally) into a left forward bow facing forward (toward left-front-flank) with the delivery of a right, hammering, over-head, heel-palm claw (toward left-front-flank) to face height, fingers pointing upward (toward up), as you simultaneously retract your left fist (toward upper-right-rear-flank) to your center chest area, palm pointing downward (toward down).

2b)

Immediately, reverse the rotation (clockwise horizontally) of your stance back into a left neutral bow facing forward (toward left-front-flank) with the delivery of a left, thrusting, downward, back-knuckle (toward left-front-flank) to face height, palm pointing upward (toward upper-right-rear-flank), as you simultaneously retract your right open hand (toward right-rear-flank) to your lower-left chest area (as a cover), palm pointing forward (toward left-front-flank) and fingers pointing upward (toward up).
