Creed

A martial arts credo created by SGM Edmund K. Parker, which proposes a moral code for the modern day practitioner.

Comments:

The creed is as follows:

"I come to you with only karate, my empty hands, but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles, or my honor, should it be a matter of life or death, right or wrong, then here are my weapons, my empty hands."

The creed was created in 1957 and was not intended to be specific to kenpo, but rather for all practitioners of the martial arts.

All pledges are considered derived from the principles of the creed.
