Closed Circle Strength

An idiom referring to the use of grabbing or entwining one's self in order to in increase the ability to resist an extremity hold.

Comments:

One easy way to understand Closed Circle Strength is that it is basically securing the end (i.e. hand or foot) through grabbing (as in the case of the hand) or entwining (as in the case of the foot) to create a stronger hold to the opponent with either the arm or leg.

In essence, Closed Circle Strength is the "closing of the circle" of an extremity hold for the purpose of making it more secure.

From a grabbing context, Closed Circle Strength could be enacted using the same hand as the hold (such as grabbing clothing) or employing the opposite extremity (such as grabbing the wrist). Regardless, the result is the same.

From a entwining context, Closed Circle Strength is always enacted through being assisted by another Environmental Object (such as the opposite leg or arm).
