The upward block / middle-knuckle sequence is as follows:
1) | step backward with the left foot into a transitory rear twist stance |
2) | rotate and drop into a left wide kneel with the execution of a left upward block along with the execution of a right downward snapping middle-knuckle strike |
3) | draw the right foot toward the left into a right rear forty five degree cat stance while simultaneously retracting both arms to the left side in a 'cup and saucer' position. |
4) | step backward with the right foot into a right transitory rear twist stance |
5) | rotate and drop into a right wide kneel with the execution of a right upward block along with the execution of a left downward snapping middle-knuckle strike |
An analysis of this sequence exposes the following information:
•it demonstrates both the direction of downward (middle-knuckle) and upward (block) simultaneously
•it's movements are directed to the vertical plane (opposite of outward block / punch sequence)
•it never steps onto the upper part of the '+' pattern - only faces the 12:00 direction
An analysis of this maneuver exposes the following information:
•the block utilizes isolated torque
An analysis of this maneuver exposes the following information:
•the strike has improper alignments (inadequate back-up mass)
•the strike is executed as snapping Method of Execution with contact as a raking Method of Execution
•the strike is executed on a vertical plane - the opposite (horizontal) plane of the half-knuckle strike
•the weapon formation demonstrates 'degree of' concept
An analysis of this sequence exposes the following information:
•the hand positioning cocks both the right and left hands simultaneously
•the intersection position of the cat (lower) is opposite of the intersection position of the blocks (upper)
•the reverse cat stance demonstrates the opposite stance direction in relation to the 45 degree cat
