Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation:

You are in a standard right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a right, thrustinf, step through, front kick (toward 6:00H) to your abdomen area (toward 4:30H).

1a)

Step your right foot back (toward 6:00H) into a left twist (facing 12:00H), while delivering a right, parrying (toward 4:30H), downward block to the outside of the opponent's right lower leg (counter clockwise V), while simultaneously raising (toward 12:00V) your left open hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 12:00H).

Result:

The opponent's kick should be diverted to your right-rear flank (toward 4:30H) (close center line).

Situation

The opponent continues their attack with a thrusting, left, straight punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area.

1b)

Rotate (clockwise H) into a left neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with a left, thrusting, inward block to the outside of the opponent's right upper forearm (toward 1:30H) - allowing your blocking arm to slide up the outside opponent's right forearm to at least the elbow (sliding check), while simultaneously allowing your right arm to conclude its rotation (toward 4:30V), extending to your right, lower hip area (toward 4:30H).

Result

The opponent's punch should be met and diverted (toward 4:30H), allowing the punch to safely pass by you (close center line) with their right foot planting (toward 4:30H) and their rear centerline exposed to you (on a 10:30H - 4:30H line).

1c)

Immediately execute a right, instep kick (toward 12:00H) (toward 8:00V) to the inside, back of the opponent's left knee area (major), while simultaneously starting to reverse the orbit (clockwise V) of your right arm (toward 12:00H).

Result

The opponent's left knee should begin to buckle (toward 12:00H).

1d)

Plant your right foot forward (toward 12:00H) into a transitory, right twist (facing 12:00H) with a front, thrusting, right, upward (toward 12:00V) shape of crane (toward 12:00H) to the underside of the opponent's groin area (major), while simultaneously allowing your left open hand and arm to shift (toward 12:00H) (with the forward momentum of your body) across the opponent's back area to end in a cross body check, palm away from you (toward 1:30H).

Result

The upward momentum of your strike should slow (opposing forces) the buckle of the opponent's left leg, while the opponent's upper body begins to bend forward (toward 1:30H) with hands beginning to attempt to cover the groin area.

2a)

Immediately, rotate (counter clockwise H) into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with a right, upward (toward 12:00V) scoop kick (toward 1:30H) to the opponent's groin area (major), while simultaneously shifting your right arm upward (toward 12:00V) to a vertical blocking position (positioned cover) with the retraction (toward 7:30H) of your left hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm foward (toward 1:30H).

Note

The kick should be timed as to take advantage of the rotation of your stance to enhance its power.

Result

The downward momentum of the opponent should be fully stopped (opposing forces), while the upper body continues to bend forward (toward 1:30H) with their hands continuing to attempt to cover the groin area.

2b)

As the momentum of the scoop kick ends, immediately reverse it (diversified angle of attack) to deliver a right, sweeping, buckle (toward 4:30V) (toward 4:30H) to the back of the opponent's right leg with a right back elbow to the opponent's right kidney area (major), palm up (toward 12:00V), while simultaneously shifting (toward 12:00V) your left open hand above your right shoulder, palm away from you (toward 4:30H).

Note

The end result of the above moves should place you in a left reverse bow (facing 4:30H).
Result: The opponent's stance should split (toward 4:30H) with the opponent's upper body straightening back up (toward 12:00V), in an attempt to maintain a standing position, and in reaction to your elbow strike.

3)

In-place stance switch (90 degrees counter clockwise H) by shifting (toward 10:30H) your right foot to the right of your left foot (toward 3:00H), then immediately delivering a left, sweeping, buckle (toward 4:30V) (toward 1:30H) to the back of the opponent's left leg with the rotation (counter clockwise H) of your left arm with your body to deliver an thrusting, outward elbow (toward 4:30H) to the back of the opponent's head (minor), palm facing you (toward 10:30H), while simultaneously rotating your right hand with your body to deliver a thrusting, right, inward heel-palm (toward 4:30H) to the opponent's left kidney area (minor), palm forward (toward 4:30H) and finger to your right (toward 3:00V).

Note

The end result of the above moves should place you in a right reverse bow (facing 1:30H).

Result

The opponent's stance should further split (toward 1:30H) with the upper body beginning to collapse backward (toward 7:30H), but forced to stay vertical (temporarily) by your strikes.

4a)

Right front cross over (toward 9:00H) with a left, snapping, inverted middle knuckle (toward 4:30H) to the opponent's left temple area (minor), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result

The opponent's head should snap to their right (toward 4:30H) and continue collapsing to the ground (on a 1:30H - 7:30H line), face up (toward 12:00V).

4b)

Continue your cross out and cover toward 9:00H).
