Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

You are in a (passive) normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your hands raised to shoulder height, palms forward (toward 12:00H) (positioned covers) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a right, thrusting, step through, front kick (toward 6:00H) to your lower abdomen area.

1)

Step back with your right foot (toward 4:30H) into a left neutral bow (facing 10:30H) (stable base) with a left hammering outside-downward block (toward 9:00H) (clockwise V), palm down (toward 7:30V), to the inside of the opponent's right kicking leg while simultaneously raising your right open hand (toward 12:00V) to a vertical blocking position in front of your left shoulder (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 10:30H).

Result

The opponent’s right leg should be deflected (toward 7:30H) and begin to plant (toward 7:30H).

2)

Immediately, reverse the circle of your left arm (counter clockwise V) to raise it (toward 12:00V) to a vertical blocking position (positioned cover) with a right thrusting step through front ball kick (toward 10:30H) to the opponent's groin (major), while simultaneously allowing the torque of your body to retract your right hand to your right shoulder, palm forward (toward 10:30H).

Note

The retraction of your right hand should be done such that your hand remains still, hanging in air, while your body, stepping through forward (toward 10:30H), moves to it – not visa versa.

Result

The opponent's lower body should be thrust back (toward 10:30H), bending at the waist, while the hands attempt to cover the groin area.

3)

Plant your right foot forward (toward 10:30H) into a right neutral bow (positioned cover) with a right thrusting straight heel-palm (toward 10:30H) to the opponent's chin (major) (borrowed force) (fitting), while retracting your left open hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 10:30H).

Result

The opponent's upper body should be thrust back (toward 10:30H), collapsing to the ground, face up (toward 12:00V).

4)

Retract your right arm (toward 4:30V) to a vertical blocking position (positioned check), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

5)

Cross out and cover (toward 4:30H).
