Situation:

You are in a normal stance (facing forward) with both of your arms at your side (toward down) while the opponent (toward front) facing you (toward rear) executes a left roundhouse punch to the right side of your face area (toward right rear flank).

1)

Step back with your left foot (toward rear) into a right neutral bow (facing forward) (stabilize your base) with a right thrusting extended outward block (toward front) to the inside of the opponent's left forearm while simultaneously raising (toward up) your left hand to your right solar plexus area (positioned cover), palm pointing forward (toward front).

Result:

The opponent's punch should be blocked with its momentum stopped.

2)

Shift your weight backward (toward rear) into a modified right transitory 45° cat stance facing forward (toward front), followed immediately with a right snapping front kick (toward front) (point of origin) to the opponent's groin area (minor), while your right arm remains in a vertical blocking position - maintaining contact with the opponent's left arm (positioned check).

Clarification:

The cat stance of the previous maneuver (2) is called modified because the depth of the stance never changes to the ideal depth of a cat stance.

Clarification:

The cat stance of the previous maneuver (2) is called transitory because it is not held for any real length of time and is only a transition into the following maneuver (3).

Result:

The opponent's lower body should be thrust backward (toward front) with their upper body bending forward (toward lower rear) (counter-clockwise vertically), while the right hand attempts to cover the groin area and

3)

Replant (toward down) your right foot into a right neutral bow facing forward (toward front) with a right inward downward-diagonal hammering hand-sword (toward front) to the opponent's left side of neck (major), palm pointing diagonally upward (toward upper left flank).

Result:

The opponent should collapse to the ground (on a front to rear line), face downward (toward down).

4)

Retract your right arm (as needed) to a covering position while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).
