One of the best ways to detail the common problems, various mistakes, potential oversights, possible misunderstandings, and/or physical misinterpretations that may arise in Short Form Three's execution is to go through each maneuver, highlighting it, and providing a probable solution. As mentioned earlier, not every minute detail or potential concern will be detailed. For that level of scrutiny and specificity, one should consult the same chapter in the guides about the lower forms. Instead, many of the more egregious and universally common issues will be illustrated, and an overall solution to the matter will be provided.
Since one of the many ways Short Form Three differs from the lower forms is that it is composed of self-defense techniques, this section will follow that same composition. Each self-defense technique, in the order in which the form is executed, will be listed and then further broken down into recognizable sub-sections. The numbering for each of these sub-section is deliberately designed to coincide with the numbering of the textual illustration from the "Execution" chapter of this guide. This layout is provided with the intent to make it easier for the reader to locate, cross-check, and visualize each set of maneuvers.
In addition to dividing the self-defense techniques in to sub-sections, each self-defense techniques's numbered sub-section is further broken down into topics that parallel the order of the categories listed in the "General Errors" section of this chapter. Through this layout pattern, it is intended that the reader can quickly and easily find a region of relevance within the form, isolate the specific area of interest, and rapidly find not only potential matters related to that series of maneuvers; but also a corresponding solution.
