The Pasadena school belt manuals were never published, but were handed out to students to be used during their classes and for personal study. They were essentially a list of the basics, forms, sets, etc. that were to be learned at a specific rank, prior to moving onto a new rank. Many organizations, schools, and teachers still use similar sheets / manuals for their students. Short Form Two is listed in the Purple belt manual.

This was the second and most comprehensive written explanation of Short Form Two. It’s description gave not only the physical and pictorial narration of this form, but the first written comprehensive analysis of this form. It also gave a written illustration of how to execute this form. This explanation is still considered by most to be the most widely read version of this form. This reference states that Short Form Two should be taught at Blue belt.
