Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

Start from a standing position (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a two-hand push to your upper chest area, right foot forward (toward 6:00H).

1)

Step back (toward 6:00H) with your right foot into a left transitory neutral bow (stable base) with the raise (toward 12:00V) of both your hands, palms toward you (toward 6:00H), overlapping (left over right) in the center of your upper chest area, between the opponent’s arms, with elbows anchored (toward 6:00V) and almost touching in front of your lower abdomen area.  Immediately, settle (toward 6:00V) into a left neutral bow with the rotating (left counter clockwise V) (right clockwise V) and parting (left toward 9:00H) (right toward 3:00H) of both your hands to the inside of both the opponent’s forearms, simultaneously, while maintaining anchored elbows (toward 6:00V).  Without any loss of motion, shift forward (counter clockwise H) into a left forward bow (toward 12:00H) with a right thrusting straight (toward 12:00H) hand-sword (punching chop) to the opponent’s lower left peck area (major), while simultaneously cocking (toward 3:00H) your left hand across your body to your right upper shoulder area, palm up (toward 12:00H), in preparation for the next move.

Note

The above series of moves should be done as a single series of almost continuous motion, instead of breaking the motion into its component parts.

The path of travel for your parting hands should be executed in a similar manner as an extended outward block, only more squared and less circular.

Result

From the initial move, both the opponent’s arms should pass safely by your body, nullifying the push.  From the hand-sword, the opponent’s forward momentum should be halted (borrowed force) with the head and shoulders continuing to move and beginning to bend forward (toward 6:00H).

2)

Immediately, shift (clockwise H) back into a left neutral (toward 6:00H) with thrusting straight left hand-sword (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s throat area (minor), while simultaneously drawing (toward 6:00H) your right fist to your right hip, palm up (toward 12:00V), in preparation for the next move.

Result

The forward momentum of the opponent’s head and shoulders should be halted with both hands beginning to attempt to cover the throat area.

3)

Shift forward (counter clockwise H) into a left forward bow (toward 12:00H) with a thrusting right vertical punch (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s sternum (major), while simultaneously drawing (toward 6:00H) your left open hand across your body to your right upper ribcage area, palm down (toward 6:00V).

Note

Your left retracting arm should pass underneath your punching arm.

Result

The opponent’ body should be thrust backward (toward 12:00H) and collapse (toward 6:00V) to the ground (toward 12:00H) (body on the 12:00H-6:00H line), face up (toward 6:00V).

4)

Shift (clockwise H) back into a left neutral bow (toward 12:00H) while retracting your right open hand to your left solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 12:00H), simultaneously with the raising of your left arm to a left vertical blocking position (positioned cover).  Cross out and cover (toward 4:30H).
