The triple blocks in Long Form One introduce defensive maneuvers using the rear hand. This is important because Short Form One is limited to defense with the front hand only. And, one opposite of this concept is defense using the rear hand.
Along with the triple blocks, there is also other information that is of interest within this section of the form. First, the left side of Short Form One is built into this section. This fact negates the requirement that Short Form One must be executed on both sides. Second, this section adds a whole new set of counter-rotational torques that are not present in Short Form One. Specifics of this information can be found through further analysis of this section of the form and in the Analysis of Long Form One section of this book.
