Improvement Priorities

The following chart is designed to help the practitioner correct the majority of errors illustrated in this chapter. It provides the practitioner with a chart that maps the commonality of errors against the severity of errors.

To start fixing errors in Long Form One, start with the errors in the upper right hand corner and work downward and to the left of the graph. This will ensure the most sever errors and common errors are fixed first.

It is not feasible to get all possible errors onto a chart such as this. Therefore, errors are often combined into an error category (such as Stance Dimensions) which contains more than one error. To get more specific information on errors that are contained within a specific category, see the details presented in the other sections of this chapter.

In general, one can also use the priority of the basics as a guide with which to use for correcting errors. These priorities are as follows: stances, blocks, strikes, timing, alignment / formation, other. One should notice that using the 'priority of basics' method does not always coincide with sequence laid out in the chart presented below.

Note: this chart should be used in conjunction with the chart presented in the same section of the "EPAKS Guide to Short Form One" book.
