All American Kenpo forms contain an abundance of information. This is due to the fact that all American Kenpo forms, by definition, are designed to demonstrate information present in the system - and are not preordained, imaginary fights. But, as in all information contained in American Kenpo, it is designed to be absorbed over a long period of time. For example, a beginning student might not be expected to understand the different types of torque displayed in Long Form One. But, the beginner would most likely be expected to understand a lot of the opposite information contained in the form. But, as the practitioner continues to progress in American Kenpo, this information would be expected to be learned and absorbed at some point in their training.
Because of this layering of information, in American Kenpo, it is not only important to be able to execute the form properly; but as the practitioner becomes more and more advanced, it is expected that they also begin to understand more and more about the information presented in each form. And, that the practitioner also be able to explain this information in ever increasing detail, upon request.
