Situation
You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V) with the opponent (at 6:00H) (facing 12:00H) applying a rear bear hug, arms free, to your lower abdominal area.
1)
Deliver double inward middle-knuckle strikes (toward 6:00H) to the back of the opponent’s hands (minor), palms toward you (toward 6:00H), as you step to your right with your right foot (toward 3:00H) into a transitional horse (facing 12:00H). Settle (toward 6:00V) into the horse (facing 12:00H) (stable base) with double back elbow strikes (toward 6:00H) to the outside of the opponent’s forearms (minor), palms up (toward 12:00V), allowing the elbows to continue backward (toward 6:00H) to chambered positions, pinning both of the opponent’s arms to your sides (pressing checks).
Note
The elbows should stay as close to your body as possible, without disrupting the path of travel of the middle-knuckle strikes. This is to prevent the opponent from pulling their arms out in reaction to the middle-knuckle strikes and preventing you from pinning the arms.
Result
The opponent’s upper body should be bent slightly to the right at the waist, placing the majority of their weight on the right foot with the grab being totally broken and both forearms pinned to your sides (double pinning checks). The position of opponent’s hands could be anywhere from still maintaining a slight grab (toward 9:00H with the right / toward 3:00H with the left) to being fully extended forward (toward 12:00H – both hands).
2a)
Grab the opponent’s right hand with both of your hands, palms down (toward 6:00V) - thumbs to the back of the hand – fingers to the wrist and lower palm area, while shifting the hand (if necessary) (toward 3:00H), palm down (toward 6:00V) to your right side, fingers forward (toward 12:00H). Immediately, step your left foot forward (toward 1:30H) into a transitory right reverse bow (toward 7:30H) with the rotating (counter clockwise V) of the opponent’s right hand to the right, palm away from you (toward 3:00V), while allowing the opponent’s left arm to slide out from under your left arm, but, maintaining a right anchored elbow (toward 6:00V) to the back of the opponent’s right arm and elbow causing a right downward (toward 6:00V) arm lock (minor).
Note
Raising (toward 12:00V) or lowering (toward 6:00V) the opponent’s right hand and arm slightly with your grab will create more or less (respectively) pressure on the opponent’s right elbow (fulcrum) and vary the result of the arm lock.
Result
The opponent’s upper body should begin to be forced to bend forward (toward 12:00H), at the waist.
2b)
Immediately, right step through reverse (toward 1:30H) into a left neutral bow (toward 7:30H) with the continued rotation (counter clockwise V) of the opponent’s right hand to the right, palm up (toward 12:00V), while allowing the opponent’s right elbow and arm to slide out from under your right arm, but replacing the pressure of the right elbow (toward 6:00V) with the pressure of the two-hand grab (toward 7:30H) (toward 1:30V) to the opponent’s right wrist area creating a right wristlock (minor).
Note
Turning (toward 3:00V) or pressing (toward 7:30H) the opponent’s right wrist with more or less pressure, will vary the result of the wristlock.
Result
The opponent’s upper body should be forced to bend fully forward (toward 12:00H), at the waist, with the head at waist level.
3)
Deliver a right thrusting upward diagonal (toward 10:30V) straight kick (toward 7:30H) to the opponent’s chest (or abdomen) area (major) with a downward diagonal (toward 4:30V) pull (toward 1:30H) of the opponent’s right arm, with both of your hands, past your right side (opposing forces).
Result
The opponent’s body should be forced forward (toward 1:30H) by the pull, but halted and reversed slightly by the pressure of your right kick, and yet prevented from being forced backward too much by your two-hand grab, while the left hand begins to cover the chest area.
4)
Step forward with your right foot (toward 7:30H) into a transitory right forward bow (toward 7:30H) with a right upward diagonal (toward 10:30V) back-knuckle (toward 7:30H), palm down (toward 6:00V) to the opponent’s face area (major), while simultaneously releasing the left grabbing hand and allowing your open hand, palm down (toward 6:00V) to track up the back of the opponent’s right arm (traveling check), as your body moves forward from the step-through.
Note
Your left hand should continue to track up the opponent’s right arm until it at least reaches the opponent’s right elbow.
Result
Opponent’s body should be thrust back (toward 7:30H) and up (toward 10:30V), collapsing to the ground (toward 6:00V), face up (toward 12:00H) (body on the 7:30H – 1:30H line).
5)
Shift (counter clockwise H) back (toward 1:30H) into a right neutral bow (toward 7:30H) with the retraction (toward 1:30H) of your right arm to a right vertical blocking position (positioned cover), while simultaneously retracting (toward 12:00V) your left hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 7:30H), and maintaining your other defenses (positioned covers). Cross out and cover (toward 1:30H).
