Situation
You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V), while the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executes a left step through (toward 6:00H) with a left thrusting, straight punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area, followed immediately by a right, thrusting, straight punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area.
1a)
Step forward (toward 11:00H) with your left foot into a transitory left neutral bow (facing 12:00H) (stable base) with a left, inward (toward 4:30H) parry to the inside of the opponent's left punching arm, palm to your right (toward 3:00V).
Result
The opponent’s punch should be parried to your right allowing the punch to pass safely by your right side.
Note
The parry should make contact on the opponent’s arm between the inside of the elbow and the wrist.
1b)
Timed with the delivery of the opponent’s right punch, deliver a right, outward (toward 4:30H) parry to outside of the opponent's right punching arm, palm forward (toward 12:00H), while simultaneously retracting (toward 7:00H) your left arm to your upper chest area, palm away from you (toward 1:00H), in preparation for the next move.
Result
The opponent’s punch should be parried to your right allowing the punch to pass safely by your right side.
Note
The parry should make contact on the opponent’s arm as close to the elbow as possible.
1c)
Without any loss of motion, convert your right parry into a right grab to the opponent’s right wrist, palm away from you (toward 4:30H), followed immediately with the retraction (toward 6:00H) of your right hand to your right lower hip area (a low chambered position), palm down (toward 6:00V), pulling the opponent’s right arm toward you (toward 7:00H) (toward 4:30V). Simultaneously with the right pull, deliver a left, thrusting, four-finger poke (toward 1:00H), palm down (toward 5:00V) to the opponent’s eyes (minor) with a right, thrusting, front kick (toward 1:00H) to the opponent’s groin (major), as you shift (clockwise H) your centerline to face the opponent (toward 1:00H).
Tip
Do not allow your stance to float during the execution of the above maneuvers.
Result
The opponent’s upper body and head should be forced forward (toward 7:00H) by the pull of your right hand, but immediately halted and reversed (toward 1:00H) by the left poke, with the lower body being thrust backward (toward 1:00H) by the right kick. But, all backward motion (toward 1:00H) should be limited and controlled by the grab to the opponent’s right wrist. The net result being that the opponent’s stance stays relatively vertical with their lower abdomen pushed backward (toward 1:00H).
2)
Plant your right foot (toward 6:00V) forward (toward 1:00H), into a right neutral bow (facing 1:00H) with a right, thrusting, straight, elbow (toward 1:00H), palm down (toward 6:00V), to the opponent’s sternum (major), while simultaneously lowering (toward 6:00V) your left hand, palm down (toward 5:00V), on top of the opponent’s right arm (above the elbow) (pressing check).
Note
The rotation (counter clockwise H) into the right neutral bow, along with the step forward (toward 1:00H) should be used to help enhance the effectiveness of the elbow strike (directional harmony).
Result
The opponent’s upper body should begin to be thrust backward (toward 1:00H), causing the upper body and head to bend forward (toward 7:00H), in reaction to the elbow, with the arms being prevented from moving significantly by your left hand (pressing check) and right arm (positional cover).
3a)
Deliver a right outward two-finger slice (toward 3:00H), palm down (toward 6:00V), to the opponent’s eyes (minor), followed immediately be a right inward two-finger slice (toward 9:00H), palm up (toward 12:00V), to the opponent’s eyes (minor), while maintaining your other defenses (positional cover). Timed with the inward slice, execute a right front scoop kick (toward 12:00V) to the opponent’s groin (major), planting backward (toward 7:00H) into a left neutral bow (facing 1:00H) with a left, thrusting outward hand-sword (toward 1:00H), palm down (toward 6:00V), to the opponent’s throat (minor), while simultaneously retracting your right hand (toward 7:00H) to your left solar plexus (positional cover), palm forward (toward 1:00H).
Result
The opponent’s head should rotate (counter clockwise H, then clockwise H) in reaction to the slices, while the lower body is pulled slightly forward (toward 7:00H) and up (toward 12:00V) in reaction to the kick, followed immediately by the upper body and head being thrust backward (toward 1:00H) in reaction to the hand-sword - collapsing to the ground, face up (toward 12:00V).
Tip
Distance gauging is critical during the planting or your right foot backwrd, so as to not “out distance” yourself from an effective left hand-sword. Also, contact of the left hand-sword should be timed to be in-sync with the planting of your right foot (stabile base), so as to not be moving away from your target upon contact, diminishing from the effectiveness of your strike.
4)
Cross-out and cover (toward 7:30H).
