Situation
You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a right overhead club attack (toward 6:00H), with the right leg forward (toward 6:00H), to your head.
1a)
Step your left foot forward (toward 11:00H) into a transitory left neutral bow (toward 12:00H) (stabile base) while simultaneously raising both your right and left arms (toward 11:00V) to execute an upward universal block (toward 1:00H) (toward 10:30V) (right on top of left) to the bottom of the opponent’s right forearm area.
Note
You should try to move as much of your body out of the line of attack as possible (toward 9:00H), without compromising the effectiveness of the block.
You should try to block the strike as high as possible on the arch (before 1:30V), to minimize path of travel for the strike.
Result
The forward and downward momentum of the strike should being halted.
1b)
Immediately, draw your left foot toward your right foot (toward 5:00H) into a transitory left 45 degree cat (facing 12:00H), while simultaneously rotating (counter clockwise V) your right open hand to grab the outside of the opponent’s right forearm area, palm to your right (toward 4:30V), in preparation for the next move.
Result
The opponent's upper body should be pulled slightly forward (toward 6:00H) somewhat de-stabilizing the base.
1c)
Without any loss of motion, step your left foot forward (toward 1:00H) into a left neutral bow (toward 1:00H) (positioned cover) with the rotation (clockwise V) of the opponent’s right arm, elbow up (toward 12:00V), using the grab to the outside of the opponent’s right wrist area, while simultaneously rotating (clockwise V) your left arm from the bottom to the top of the opponent’s right arm, delivering a left downward (toward 6:00V) pressing arm lock to the outside back of the opponent’s right triceps area (minor).
Note
The rotation of your left arm should use the elbow as the major pivot point.
The final position of this motion should put you in the same general position as the first moves of crossing talon.
Result
The opponent's upper body should be forced to bend forward (toward 3:00H) at the waist with the head at or below waist height (height check) with the left arm (possibly) extended downward (toward 6:00V) to keep the head from being forced onto the ground.
1d)
Immediately, deliver a right thrusting knee kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s right sternum area (toward 1:00H) (major) with the pull (toward 7:00H) of the opponent’s right arm (opposing forces), past your right side, with your right grabbing hand and left pressing forearm.
Result
The opponent should begin to collapse to the ground (toward 6:00V) with the left arm beginning to cover the sternum area, and the right arm continuing to be immobilized by the arm lock.
2)
Replant the foot back to its original position (toward 7:00H) into a left neutral bow (toward 1:00H). Immediately, retract (toward 12:00V) your left arm to a vertical blocking position (positioned cover) while simultaneously retracting (toward 12:00V) your right open hand to your left solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 1:00H). Cross out and cover (toward 7:00H).
Result
The opponent should collapse to the ground (toward 6:00V), face down (toward 6:00V) (body on the 9:00H – 3:00H line).
