Situation
You are in a (passive) normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your hands raised to shoulder height, palms forward (toward 12:00H) (positioned covers) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a two-hand push to your lower abdomen area, right foot forward (toward 6:00H).
1a)
Step back (toward 6:00H) with your left foot into a right, transitory 45 degree cat (facing 12:00H) (stable base) with the drop (toward 6:00V) of your hands, palm down (toward 6:00V) in the shape of the crane, to the inside of the opponent’s forearms, creating a wedge (toward 9:00H and 3:00H). Without any loss of motion, retract (toward 6:00H) of both your hands to chambered positions, palms down (toward 6:00V).
Result
The opponent’s push should be allowed to pass safely past you, creating a double parrying effect.
1b)
Without any loss of momentum, step forward (toward 12:00H) with your right foot into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with the delivery of double upward, diagonal, thrusting middle-knuckle strikes (toward 12:00H) (toward 10:30V), palms facing diagonally upward (left - toward 10:30V) (right - toward 1:30V), to the opponent’s ribs (minor), while simultaneously lowering (toward 6:00V) your chin to your chest, to expose the top of your head to the opponent (positioned cover).
Result
The opponent’s forward momentum should be halted; with the lower abdominal area being forced back (toward 12:00H) bending at the waist, with their head potentially impacting the top of your head. While their hands retract (toward 12:00H) to cover their rib area.
Note
The bending of your head forward serves two purposes: 1) to prevent the opponent’s head from impacting your face 2) to keep the opponent from bending too far forward, preventing the rest of the technique from being executed correctly.
2)
Retract both arms across your body (right on top of left), at stomach level, palms facing you (toward 6:00H), in preparation for the next move, while continuing to leave your head bent forward (toward 12:00H) (positioned cover). Using the rebound energy of the retraction (elastic recoil) from the previous move, deliver double, outward back-knuckle strikes (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s temple area (major), palms facing outward (left – toward 7:30V) (right – toward 4:30V).
Result
The opponent’s head should be compressed (sandwiched) by the opposing force of the two back-knuckles, with the head remaining relatively in place. While their hands remain covering their rib area.
3)
Again, retract both arms across your body (right on top of left), at stomach level, palms facing you (toward 6:00H), in preparation for the next move. Using the rebound energy of the retraction (elastic recoil) from the previous move, deliver double, outward two-finger slices (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s eyes (minor), palms facing downward (toward 6:00V).
Result
The opponent’s head should remain relatively in place by the opposing forces (sandwich) of the two strikes.
4)
Immediately, deliver double, downward, hammering heel-palm strikes (toward 6:00V) to the clavicles of the opponent (major), palms downward (toward 6:00V).
Result
The opponent’s weight should be forced downward (toward 6:00V), controlling their height zone. While the positioning (cross body checks) of your two hands, prevent any rotation of the opponent’s body, controlling their width zone. Also, the strikes should have broken the opponent’s clavicles, effectively rendering their arms useless.
5)
Deliver a left thrusting knee kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s groin (minor), while simultaneously pulling backward (toward6:00H) and downward (toward 7:30V) with both of your hands. Continue the forward momentum (toward 12:00H) of the knee kick to plant (toward 6:00V) your left foot forward (toward 12:00H), into a left neutral bow (toward 12:00H).
Result
The opponent’s lower body should be forced backward toward (12:00H), while the pull of your hands should force the opponent’s upper body forward (toward 6:00H) and down (toward 6:00V), creating a dramatic forward bend at their waist, effectively controlling the depth and height zones – while your hands continue to control the width zone.
6)
Deliver a right, upward (toward 12:00V) thrusting knee kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s solar plexus (major), while maintaining the grabs to the opponent’s shoulder area (pressing checks). Continue the forward momentum (toward 12:00H) of the knee kick to plant (toward 6:00V) to plant forward (toward 12:00H) into a right neutral bow (toward 12:00H).
Result
The opponent’s upper body should be forced upward (toward 12:00V) and back (toward 12:00H), back to a full standing position.
Tip
You may use the grab to the opponent’s shoulders to both enhance the effect of the knee kick, by pulling downward (toward 6:00V) (opposing forces), and to help raise the opponent’s upper body, by pushing upward (toward 12:00V) (contact manipulation), after the knee kick is delivered.
7a)
Rotate (clockwise V) the opponent, by pulling diagonally backward (toward 7:30H) and downward (toward 7:30V) with your left hand, and pressing forward (toward 1:30H) and upward (toward 1:30V) with your right forearm, as you simultaneously step backward (toward 6:00H) into a left neutral bow (toward 12:00H). After the complete rotation of the opponent’s body, allow your right forearm to pass to the right of the opponent’s head (toward 3:00H), re-grabbing the opponent’s right shoulder, palm down (toward 6:00V).
Result: The opponent should be forced to rotate (clockwise) 180o, ending with their back facing you (toward 6:00H) and bent backward (toward 6:00H) (toward 1:30V), at the waist – face pointing upward (toward 12:00V).
Tip
You may use the re-grab or your right hand to help pull the opponent backward (toward 6:00H) and downward (toward 6:00V), causing the opponent not only to bend backward (toward 6:00H), but begin to fall backward (toward 6:00V), helping to enhance the next move.
7b)
Deliver a right, upward (toward 12:00V) thrusting knee kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s lower spine area (major), while maintaining the grab to both shoulders (pressing checks). After delivering the knee kick, replant (toward 6:00V) your right foot back (toward 6:00H) to its original position (point of origin).
Result
The opponent’s body should remain relatively immobilize by their positioning, and the grabs to their shoulders.
Tip
You may use the grab to the opponent’s shoulders to enhance the knee kick, by pulling downward (toward 6:00V) (opposing forces).
8)
Deliver a left, thrusting, upward (toward 12:00V) knee kick (toward 1:00H) to the opponent’s right kidney area (minor), while maintaining the grab to both shoulders (pressing checks).
Result
The opponent’s body should remain relatively immobilize by their positioning, and the grabs to their shoulders.
Tip
You may use the grab to the opponent’s shoulders to enhance the knee kick, by pulling downward (toward 6:00V) (opposing forces).
9)
Without re-planting your left foot (point of origin), deliver a left, downward (toward 4:30V), diagonal side kick (toward 1:00H) to the back of the opponent’s right upper calf area (minor), while maintaining the grab to both shoulders (pressing checks).
Result
The opponent should be forced onto their knees, and begin to fall backward (toward 6:00H) (toward 6:00V), but controlled by the grab to their shoulders.
10)
From the final position of your left side kick (point of origin), left cross out and cover (toward 4:30H), while simultaneously releasing the grabs to your opponent’s shoulders, retracting them (toward 4:30H) to positioned covers.
Result
The opponent should continue to fall (toward 6:00V), collapsing to the ground, face up (toward 12:00V).
Tip
You may use the grabs to the opponent’s shoulders to help force the opponent backward (toward 6:00H) (toward 6:00V) onto the ground, face up (toward 12:00V).
